Testimonial
All About Books was thrilled to travel and support our customers this spring for their annual conferences and fundraisers.  It's such a joy to see friends in person and meet new faces!  We are always grateful for the opportunity to attend these events and look forward to more this fall!

Reach Out & Read National Retreat:

We were proud to be the exclusive vendor and sponsor at this year’s Reach Out and Read National Retreat in Portland, Oregon, which brought together Reach Out and Read sites from across the country. At this event, we strengthened our partnership with the Reach Out and Read team by collaborating on plans to promote early literacy and support children’s development nationwide. It also provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with our customers and partners in a convivial atmosphere. Overall, the retreat celebrated our commitment to making a positive impact on young children and their families.  - Sarah, Director of Sales and Marketing

Reach Out & Read Kansas City Launch into Literacy Luncheon

In April, All About Books showed our support for Reach Out and Read Kansas City at their Launch into Literacy Luncheon. Although we couldn't attend, we loved seeing photos from the event and hope to join in next time! Guests were inspired by heartfelt stories from Amy Pixton, Doris D. Holmes Holleman, and Lisa Nickel, highlighting their connection with Reach Out and Read KC. This fantastic organization provides over 60,000 books annually to 27,000 children and families in pediatric clinics across the Greater Kansas City area, empowering parents and preparing kids for Kindergarten. ! - Sarah, Director of Sales and Marketing

Reach Out & Read Alabama 12th Grand Pentathlon:

We were incredibly excited to sponsor and collaborate with our friends at Reach Out and Read-Alabama for their Grand Pediatric Pentathlon! This event is a longstanding tradition and vital fundraiser for a fantastic program. We proudly provided children's books for the goodie bags and the door prize raffle. During the event, they announced our collaboration on the RX for Summer Reading Program this year, where we are supplying the book "Play" by our longtime friend and collaborator, Dr. John Hutton. Although I couldn't attend this year due to unforeseen circumstances, my heart was filled with joy to hear about the event's success and to be part of supporting our friends at Reach Out and Read Alabama.  - Brittany, Marketing Specialist

National Smart Start Conference:

Once again, Sarah and I traveled to Greensboro, North Carolina, to attend the Smart Start conference from April 29th to May 2nd. Approximately 900 people registered for the conference, and this year, there were several new vendors. Our booth was busy throughout the day, and we gave away all 100 of our tote bags by around 11 a.m. Many attendees were excited to receive a free copy of *Bedtime Baby, Safe and Sound*, along with our pens, bookmarks, and prescription pads for reading. We had a lot of visitors who were already familiar with us, but it seemed that this year, even more attendees were hearing about us for the first time. Overall, the conference was a success. It was evident that people recognized our presence and appreciated our support of Smart Start. - Halle, Sales Account Manager

ParentChild+ Conference:

I attended the ParentChild+ conference in April 2025, marking their first in-person event since 2019. we had also participated in the 2019 conference and the virtual gathering in 2024. This year's event was particularly meaningful as we reconnected with other attendees. The organization celebrated its 60th anniversary, honoring its legacy with heartfelt tributes on the second day. The event was filled with enthusiasm and purpose, and many discussions reflected themes from our own books. These insights reinforced ParentChild+'s mission and inspired us to continue our important work in the community.   - Paige, Marketing Manager

Reach Out & Read Minnesota Annual Breakfast Fundraiser:

Supporting Reach Out and Read Minnesota's annual Spring Benefit Breakfast is a privilege. This event brings together leaders from healthcare, early childhood education, government, libraries, and children's book publishers, all sharing the belief that storytelling with loved ones can significantly impact a child's life. Even though we couldn’t attend in person, we remain dedicated to supporting this important initiative.

Reach Out & Read Illinois Meeting:

In May 2025, I attended the 2025 Reach Out and Real Illinois site support meeting at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago, IL. I attended in 2023, so it was nice to come back a couple of years later and see some familiar faces. This year, we had a videographer on site to capture the spirit of the gathering. Cindy Ogrin (RORIL) mentioned our role as the main sponsor, and I shared about our journey, discussing our catalog, our books, our partnership with RORIL, and our passion for being at this event. It was wonderful to see that over half of the people at our table were existing customers who were familiar with our books and excited to explore the new titles I presented to them. Overall, the event was successful and inspiring!  - Paige, Marketing Manager

Reach Out & Read Colorado Annual Fundraiser:

Participating in the annual spring fundraiser brings us immense joy, especially when we see our books showcased! As the exclusive book vendor for Reach Out and Read Colorado sites, we are dedicated to supporting this event and ensuring that the sites have our unwavering backing. Together, we raised enough funds to provide high-quality books and literacy guidance to children and their families at 17,667 well-child visits across Colorado this year.  - Natalie, Senior Sales Account Manager

Reach Out & Read Georgia Pediatrics by the Sea

United Way of Rock River Valley Tea for Tomorrow Fundraiser:

We proudly sponsored a delightful afternoon at the Tebala Event Center for the United Way of Rock River Valley's event, "Tea for Tomorrow." This event focused on building a tradition of literacy by bringing the community together for our youngest members. Attendees had the chance to meet local children’s book authors, including Karla Clark, Lynn and Bryn Gibson, Emily Grobe, Barb Kohl, and Ellissa Schwartz, who were available for book sales and signings. Guests enjoyed a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and a variety of delicious savory and sweet items. Guests also heard inspiring stories about lives changed through the United Way Literacy Initiative. It was a wonderful opportunity to support United Way in their mission to provide essential reading skills to the children of Winnebago County. -  Sarah, Director of Sales and Marketing
